hat do we mean by "Ultra All-Inclusive" and is
there a difference?
There sure is.
At Metz Travel, we sell packages for several different "all inclusive"
resorts and vacations. Each resort has its individual merits, but the Sandals and
Beaches Resorts stand out in this area for being truly all-inclusive.
If you have never been to an all-inclusive resort before, you are really in for a treat
with Sandals/Beaches. Not only is not having to pay for everything as you go more relaxing and
convenient during your stay, the VALUE you receive for your vacation dollar is enormous
compared to, say, a cruise, where drinks and certain entertainment items are not included.
Is everything really included?
Frankly, the only thing we have found that
is not included for everyone is the Jamaican departure tax for those staying at Beaches Negril. The fee
is about $15, payable when you leave the island, and cannot be pre-paid at booking time.
(You could avoid this fee by never leaving, as we have been tempted to do on occasion...)
There are also some optional, activity-specific items that carry an extra fee for obvious
reasons. Beaches will, for example, train you how to scuba dive (!) at no charge. If,
however, you would like to get your PADI certification, there would be an extra fee
associated with it. This represents a very specific activity request that is not in the scope of
one's normal stay.
Past that, everything you need for the perfect vacation is
included in the package price (during your stay, you won't find any hidden fees and charges) :
- Luxury Accommodations
- Gourmet Food
- Drinks
- A Full Array of Land and Water Sports
- Sports Instruction
- Nightlife and Entertainment
- All Tips and Gratuities
But what if you don't drink?
Some of our clients express concern that they are not receiving full value
for their vacation dollar because they don't drink alcoholic beverages.
To respond bluntly, we believe that just the gourmet meals alone are enough to make the Sandals / Beaches package
an extraordinary value. Unless you are into "backpacking Europe on $10 per day" vacations, you'll undoubtedly
appreciate the difference
a gourmet meal at a great restaurant makes. Besides, in an "all-inclusive" that does not include drinks,
you will still have to pay for sodas, juices and mineral waters (the virgin
tropical drinks are not bad either). The costs add up on a sunny Caribbean day...
Why "Ultra"?
Sandals/Beaches uses the term Ultra to distinguish their vacation product from
other all-inclusives that don't offer the same level of pampering and luxury. Pampering is a
key concept here; you really will feel like royalty at one of these resorts.
The "Ultra" moniker is also well-earned in the specific extra quality and zest with which all
the products and services are delivered. So, we're not talking about keg beer and generic labels;
at an Ultra All-Inclusive you'll only be served premium brands. And forget the
buffet meal (unless you want one); every meal is a celebration of culinary delight. Entertainment
doesn't consist of pay-as-you-go bingo like on some cruises; at Beaches the entertainment is
top-notch. We really can't say enough about the quality of the Sandals/Beaches experience
and we hope you'll find out firsthand. You won't be disappointed!
A word about Value
If always pays to be a value-aware consumer, even when purchasing a dream vacation. We're
convinced that if you compare ALL the costs (and some of them are not so obvious at first) of
a total vacation package that you are paying for as you go, versus the Sandals/Beaches Ultra
All-Inclusive package, you'll see that your vacation dollar goes farther with this type of
package. We certainly hope you'll give it a try!
